Round trip high above Seealpsee
Hiking tip to the Berggasthaus Schäfler (mountain inn).
The tour starts at the mountain station of the Wasserauen-Ebenalp cable car. A few metres after the Berggasthaus Ebenalp (mountain inn), which will tempt you to stop for a bite to eat, turn left over the edge of the mountain wall and after a few turns you will reach the foot of the wall on the narrow Füessler path. Continue on a well-maintained high-altitude trail with magnificent views down to the blue-green Seealpsee in gentle ascents and descents to Altenalp. Here, the finest alpine products are produced and a refreshment is just in time because the mountain trail up the Schäfler now climbs steeply and requires sure-footedness. Some parts are very exposed but well secured with wire ropes. Once you reach the top, you will be more than rewarded for your efforts. The Schäfler, a top-class vantage point with an attractive mountain inn, offers fantastic views in all directions and offers culinary delights as well. The descent takes you along the well-maintained mountain path and back to Ebenalp via Alp Chlus.
