A spin of Brauquöll Appenzell gives a fascinating insight into the world of brewing and reveals how Appenzeller beer is brewed from fresh spring water and Säntis malt.
Hoher Kasten mountain viewpoint
What a panorama! The whole of Eastern Switzerland spreads out before you at Hohen Kasten, where the view reaches deep into the surrounding mountains of Switzerland and neighbouring countries.
World-famous Aescher mountain guesthouse
Clinging to a cliff face, the dramatically perched mountain guesthouse Aescher is just a 15-minute walk from Ebenalp through the well-known Wildkirchli caves.
Culture buffs can find all there is to know about Appenzell's hand embroidery, traditional costumes, folklore, customs and decorative hand-painted farmhouse furniture in the cantonal museum.
Art gallery Appenzell
The Art gallery Appenzell is dedicated to the work of Carl Liner Senior and Junior. It preserves their creative legacy and encourages reflection on the art of the 20th century and the present, as well as classical and contemporary music. The magnificent 16th century brick kiln is big enough for a person to walk around in it, and the special atmosphere of the building makes it a wonderful location for events of all kinds.
Museum of Art Appenzell
Regularly changing exhibitions show aspects of the work of the artists Carl August Liner (1871 –1946) and Carl Walter Liner (1914 –1997), as well as works of art from the 20th century and the present day. The museum building was designed by the Zurich architects Annette Gigon and Mike Guyer. Admission free with Swiss Museum Pass.
Kronberg bob rund and rope park
To up the adventure, test out the 1'000-m-long bob run or the biggest rope park in Eastern Switzerland, both at the foot of Kronberg.
