Museum Appenzell

Cultural and historical museum of the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden. Main areas of focus: Appenzell and embroidery, traditional costumes, popular beliefs, customs and traditions, folk-art painting and paintede furniture. Wide range of offers for families and children.

Craftsmen in the museum

Whether it's a saddler, a seamstress or a farm painter - every Thursday from June to mid-October, a craftswoman or craftsman will be on hand from 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm to provide an insight into the respective craft.


Embroiderer Verena Schiegg in the museum

From June to mid-October, every Friday from 02.00 pm - 05.00 pm, look over the shoulders of a hand embroiderer at work.

April to October

Monday to Friday: 10.00 am to 12.00 noon and 1.30 pm to 5.00 pm

Saturday, Sunday, public holidays: 11.00 am to 5.00 pm

November to March

Tuesday to Saturday: 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm

The museum is closed on the 1st of January and on the 25th of December.

Reduced: CHF 4.– (apprentices, students, IV recipients)

School class: per Child CHF 3.–

Group of 10 people or more: CHF 5.–
