Climbing

Kreuzberge, Hundstein, Stiefelwand, Fähnligipfel, Widderalpstöck, Aescher, Forscherstein, and numerous walls of all levels of difficulty are offered by the Alpstein, which is considered one of the most diverse and traditional climbing areas in Switzerland. One could almost call it a small paradise.

Climbing areas and routes in the Alpstein

Beginners will enjoy the Meglisalp climbing garden and the Zisler area on the Ebenalp. Advanced climbers also meet on the Ebenalp, either on the sunny south faces between Chlus and Äscher or on the new routes on the north faces in the Gartenalp area.

Boulderhalle «Chletterai»

The new Climbing gym «Chletterai» offers ideal conditions for climbing in bad weather or for practice. The gym is located near the village, on Weissbadstrasse.

Book «Alpstein Climbing Guide»

Comprehensive information on around 700 climbing routes can be found in Werner Küng's «Alpstein Climbing Guide» published by SAC-Verlag.
