Nostalgic carriages

The beautifully restored nostalgic train carriages of the VHAB (Verein Historische Appenzeller Bahnen) association lend your journey a very special atmosphere and are particularly well suited for aperitif trips. The buffet carriage can be attached to a scheduled train or used in combination with the «Drissgi».

«s'Drissgi»

The nostalgic «Drissgi» train takes you on a very special journey through the hilly Appenzell region. The dark red, historic train has original wooden benches and two first-class compartments with comfortable armchairs. For larger groups, we recommend adding the bistro train, which can comfortably seat around 54 people. You must book the nostalgic wagons yourself, but we will be happy to advise you if you have any questions.

The nostalgic wagons and «s'Drissgi» can be booked independently here. The Appenzell Historical Railways Foundation will be happy to advise anyone interested.
