Gonten – Himmelberg – Gontenbad

A particularly beautiful hike in winter with little snow, during which you will be rewarded for every metre of ascent.

From Gonten, you will initially climb gently via the Loos property, which is perched perkily above the village, and then later more steeply uphill, crossing the field road again and again, to Chuterenegg. That's it for the ascent, now it's time for dessert. With plenty of sun and even more views, turn right on the broad ridge and follow it to the Himmelberg property, where not far below the ridge you will already see the small, particularly beautifully situated St. Johann in der Wildnis Chapel. Here, at the latest, you can take a rest before you reach Gontenbad - always with the Alpstein in view - down the slope and past several idyllic resting benches.

Tip: Get provisions at the Gontner Dorfbäckerei Bakery and souvenirs at the Goba AG Mineralquelle & Manufaktur shop.
