Through forests up to Ebenalp

Hiking tip up to Ebenalp.

The hike starts in Wasserauen and goes along the Schwendebach stream until you reach a large rock, Forscherstein, popular for climbing. From there on, the route continues to the left through a dark and cold forest. Shortly after, you will reach Alp Bommen and then the Gartenwald-Skilift. The last stage of the hike takes you up a steep way through the fields. Once you have reached the top you will be able to enjoy the spectacular view from the Ebenalp, ranging from the Appenzellerland to the Bodensee. The Berggasthaus Ebenalp (mountain inn) offers a great option for you to take a well-deserved break and end your hike. To get back down to Wasserauen you can take a cable car.
