From Äscher to Seealpsee

A classic hike not, however, for the fainthearted. This trail down to the Seealpsee Lake is a definite challenge. The mountain trail through the steep flanks below Ebenalp is short, but it requires even more attention and sure-footedness.

After a pleasant cable car ride up to Ebenalp, you can enjoy the beautiful panorama view of the Marwees, Meglisalp and Altmann. The hiking trail leads through the Wildkirchli Caves to the famous Gasthaus am Berg. Continue hiking from the Äscher to Wasserauen through a steep and treacherous stretch of forest. You will be glad to have good shoes with good traction for this section. In general, the mountain hike is not to be underestimated and requires close attention. After the signpost and the resting bench at "Chobel", the mountain hike eventually heads towards Wasserauen. A 15-minute detour to the Seealpsee, including a swim and a stop for refreshments, is also worthwhile as an alternative.
