Sammelplatz – Gais
The perfect walk for all those wanting to take it slow. It does not matter whether there is snow or not for this particular winter hike.
This route starts at the train stop Sammelplatz. From there you will walk on a broad trail through the terrain. The hike is easy and flat - ideal for some fresh air without having to overexert yourself. At the parking space near the train stop take a left to the Möser property. You will soon see the shooting range after which you will cross a stream and no longer find yourself on Appenzell Inerrhoder ground. Shortly after you will pass the first houses of Gais. From here on it is not far from the village's main square or the train station.
Tip: If you would like to extend your winter hike you can continue to Stoss and get an insight into the Rheintal valley. The Appenzeller Railways will gladly bring you back to Appenzell from there.
