Starting from the large car park, follow the signpost that marks the mountain trail branching off to the left. After a short stroll through an alpine meadow you start the ascent through the Hüttentobel ravine. In the green beech forest the trickling sounds of a mountain stream accompany you up to Alp Hütten. Here the view opens up to reveal a fabulous alpine landscape and later Säntis, the highest peak in the Alpstein massif, comes into sight. The route continues gently up to Alp Waldhütte and almost before you know it the picturesque Seealpsee lake comes into view. Take a relaxing stroll around the lake, starting along the left shore. Here you'll see lots of small alpine huts scattered on Seealp. Almost at the end of the circular trail two cosy mountain inns invite you to linger awhile. Romantic hikers can also enjoy a cosy cable car ride. In a sparse forest by the lake stands the Bruder Klaus mountain chapel. You return down the valley to Wasserauen via a steep service road.
