Inn and Pilgrimage Hostel Maria der Engel Monastery

The Maria der Engel Appenzell Monastery Foundation strives to continue the former monastery as a place of Christian spirituality and contemplative tranquility and to preserve the Franciscan spirit of simplicity. We cultivate an atmosphere of monastic silence and deliberately avoid noisy occasions or commercial events.

The quiet, simple hostel has 19 rooms in three categories. The bathrooms are on each floor. Bedding and towels are provided. On request breakfast is available and costs CHF 10.^_ per person.

The furnishings of the rooms are simple and neat, equipment and infrastructure are ordinary.
